ISSUES THAT WERE DISCUSSED AT CRANSTON CITY COUNCIL MEETING REGARDING HARRINGTON HALL IMPACT ON CRANSTON COMMUNITIES RESOURCES, TAXES AND SAFETY

ISSUES DISCUSSED AND CONCERNS ARE AS FOLLOWS:

1) THE CLOSE PROXIMITY OF HARRINGTON HALL IN LOCATION OF SCHOOLS, PLAYGROUNDS, HIGH END RETAIL STORES AND GARDEN CITY COMPLEX.

2)PANHANDLING ALLOWED BY THE RESIDENTS OF HARRINGTON HALL THROUGHOUT THE NEIGHBOR HOOD.

3) RESCUE AND FIRE RUNS IN A 6 MOS. PERIOD OF 155 RUNS  3O CRANSTON POLICE RUNS AND A SUBSTANTIAL AMOUNT OF ARRESTS AND RUNS BY STATE POLICE TO HARRINGTON HALL. FOR A VARIETY OF REASONS FROM FAILURE TO REGISTER AS A SEX OFFENDER, TO OVERDOSING, TO BRAWLS. OFTEN THE RESCUE WORKERS ARE ASSAULTED BY RESIDENTS FROM HARRINGTON HALL RESIDENTS BEING ASSISTED.

4) A COST OF NEARLY $200,000 TO THE TAX PAYERS FOR RESCUE AND FIRE RUNS WHILE THESE RESOURCES ARE DIVERTED FROM COMMUNITY RESIDENTS NEEDS TO THE RESIDENTS OF HARRINGTON HALL IN CRISIS.

5) WHY ARE SO MANY CLIENTS OF HARRINGTON HALL WANDERING THE STREETS OF CRANSTON?  WHY ARE SO MANY RESIDENTS OF HARRINGTON HALL OVERDOSING.... IS PAN HANDLING AND ACCESS TO DRUGS AND ALCOHOL AN ACCEPTABLE PROGRAM MODEL AT THIS FACILITY ?

PAN HANDLING IS A COMMON COMPLAINT AMONG CRANSTON RESIDENTS REGARDING HARRINGTON HALL RESIDENTS.... IS THIS PART OF THE THERAPY AND PROGRAMS OFFERED ?  ACLU SEEMS TO FIND NOTHING WRONG WITH THIS AGENDA !

ACLU COMES TO DEFENSE OF HOMELESS PANHANDLERS IN CRANSTON... BUT WHAT IF THEY ARE RESIDENTS OF A SHELTER PROGRAM OFFERING PROGRAMS,FOOD, AND SHELTER.. WHY IS THAT BEHAVIOR STILL ACCEPTABLE?  http://www.riaclu.org/news/post/aclu-files-suit-to-challenge-cranston-ordinance-barring-roadside-solicitati
