SURVEILLANCE CAMERA TECHNOLOGY REVISTED IN RHODE ISLAND, AS "TEN"  STATES HAVE LAWS ! 

 

RELATING TO HEALTH AND SAFETY -- ELECTRONIC MONITORING IN NURSING AND ASSISTED LIVING FACILITIES
This act would allow for the use of electronic monitoring of a resident’s room or private
2 living unit within a nursing home or assisted living facility, provided that the resident or resident
3 representative acting on behalf of the resident, as well as the resident’s roommate or roommate’s
4 representative acting on behalf of the roommate, consent to such electronic monitoring in writing
5 in accordance with the applicable form.
6 This act would take effect upon passage.

PATIENT VISITATION AND ADVOCACY: 

VISITATION PATIENTS DURING MEDICAL CRISIS AND OTHER WISE ADVOCATE  AND REPRESENTATION

RELATING TO HEALTH AND SAFETY - RIGHTS OF NURSING HOME PATIENTS
This act would require the department of health to promulgate rules and regulations
2 providing for the designation of essential caregivers to provide in-person physical or emotional
3 support to a resident of a nursing home or long-term care facility during the period of fifteen (15)
4 days after the declaration of disaster emergency and until sixty (60) days after the termination of
5 the declaration of disaster emergency.

RELATING TO HEALTH AND SAFETY - PATIENT VISITATION RIGHTS
This act would entitle all residents of health care and assisted living facilities, nursing
2 homes, group homes and veterans' homes, to designate a person to provide them with
3 companionship, personal health care guidance and advocacy.
4 This act would take effect upon passage.
